The Oak Tree and the Reeds

The Oak Tree and the Reeds

The Oak tree generally believed that he was far more grounded than the reeds.

He told himself "I stand upstanding in storm. I don't twist my head in dread each time the breeze blows. In any case, these reeds are actually so powerless."

That very night blew a tempest and the strong oak tree was evacuated.

"Thank god!" murmured the reeds, "Our way is better. We twist yet we don't break."
